Michelle Evans
Michelle holds a Bachelor in Communications (Theatre/Media), a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management and a Master of Creative Arts (Research) - with her thesis concentrating on long term investment and evaluation in community cultural development - Community Cultural Development: A Policy for Social Change? Michelle is currently studying towards a PHD with the Melbourne Business School on the topic of Be:longing - Enacting Indigenous Arts Leadership and is  an internationally accredited Partnership Broker by the Overseas Development Institute/International Business Leader Forum.

Michelle is the founding Head of the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development, managing the Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts's commitment to Indigenous artists, curriculum change and Indigenous communities and culture. She teaches solely in the Faculty of the VCA's Post Graduate area specializing in Community Cultural Development and Indigenous Arts Management.

Michelle comes from the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. Over the past twelve years, she has worked across the arts and cultural sector, being instrumental in the establishment of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Network, Ngorekah Aboriginal Theatre, 3KND and the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development.

As a community cultural development practitioner, she has creatively developed and been responsible for the SAY IT OUT LOUD! Women's storytelling/writing project in the Hunter Valley (96-97); AUDABLE project with young people with disabilities a feature on the LOUD! Festival (97) and more recently the NAVIGATORS project (2006). Currently Michelle is involved in the cultural mapping and design/development phase of the establishment of a youth multimedia arts studio space in Shepparton.
