Call for artists: Q150 Shed |
|
This
entertainment venue, modelled on the classic Australian shearing shed, will
take the arts to the people of Queensland. By night, the venue will come alive
with an array of music performances from Queensland's talented local artists.
By day, schools, young people and community groups will gather as the venue
transforms into a workshop and educational forum.
The touring
path will cover city and country as the Shed is brought to life in Brisbane,
Gold Coast, Augathella, Mt Isa, Cairns, Rockhampton and Cherbourg - to name a
few.

Fest'Napuan will make history in 2008! |

Next month's Fest'Napuan, the 13th since the event began in 1996, will make history in a number of ways.Firstly, the event will now extend to a 5th day, beginning on Wednesday (rather than on Thursday as in past years) and running though to Sunday. Wednesday the 12th of November will be the "Fest'Nalenga", featuring local string bands...

Artist talk at New-York University |

Shigeyuki has been invited by Gayatri Gopinath (Associate Professor of
Social and Cultural Analysis) and the Asia-Pacific-American Institute both at
New York University to speak about her work on the 5th November 2008.
She is also involved in speaking in a panel about "Third Gender' in the
Pacific" with Joy Liddicoat, Comissioner of New Zealand Human Rights Comission
