Inspiring Women in Journalism

Inspiring Women in Journalism

"South Australian based journalist Nance Haxton has been chosen to be part of a new online exhibition of Australian Women in Journalism.

'The Women's Pages: Australian Women and Journalism since 1850' was launched at the Australian Press Club in Canberra by Maxine McKew last week.

The Women's Pages provides an online record of the achievements of Australian female journalists and their contributions to the nation's public life and culture. The site has been developed by the National Foundation for Australian Women's Australian Women's Archives Project (AWAP).

Maxine McKew is the ex-ABC journalist who unseated the then PM John Howard in the electoral seat of Bennelong in last year's Australian general elections. She is the first woman, and only the second person, to unseat a sitting Australian prime minister in his own electorate."
